my letter of resignation

This is the letter I wrote to my boss today. I also accepted a new position with a new company. I’m really excited about the new opportunity, and cant wait for it all to start.

I get a call from Mike around 3:30 this afternoon, and he wasn’t happy. He asked where I was going, why, and said he was very disappointed.  I told him that I didn’t want to discuss where I was going, and that I’m truly sorry that he feels this way and I didn’t realize that he would react the way he did. I think he was just very shocked about the whole ordeal.  Well, a new chapter in my career starts March 13th. Nice..

the letter:

Dear Mike:

Thank you for the opportunity to work with you and your company. I just wanted to let you know that I have accepted a new position and my last day will be March 10th, 2006.  I will do all that I can to make the transfer of my responsibilities go as smooth as possible within the next two weeks to whomever takes over my position as Office Manger.

Again, I just want to say thank you for the opportunity for allowing me to work with you and your company.

Respectfully,

Daniel Brincat
Office Manager

That was an extremely professional letter. It’s too bad that your boss didn’t see it that way and was so upset. Glad to hear you are moving on to bigger and better things!! Good luck!!!

Yeah, I thought it was very professional too. I just dont get why hes taking it so personal. I think he feels betrayed, or something like that. I hate to say it, but not my problem.

    Thanks for the comment!
