Ortega Hwy January 23, 2011 – Murrieta/Temecula Valley Sportbike Meetup Group

So I met up with the people from the Murrieta/Temecula Valley Sportbike Meetup Group today to go hit up Ortega Highway which runs between Lake Elsinore, CA and San Juan Capistrano, CA. It was a beautiful day, with temps around 73 or so, not a cloud in the sky! It was awesome. Im starting to get more comfortable on the bike, yet I know I have a lot to learn, but practice makes perfect. All in all it was a great day.

My Sunday Afternoon

On Sunday I was heading home from my Ice Hockey game at IceTown in Riverside and I was amazed at how beautiful of a day it was. I decided to take a detour from my normal route home and head up Ortega Hwy, West of Lake Eslinore, CA.  I got up to the Lookout Roadhouse and snapped a Panorama of Lake Elsinore as seen below.

I was on my way down the hill when I decided to pull over and snap a few shots of the street bikers that were storming the hill.  Keep in mind this was my first time shooting street bikes so the results leave a lot to be desired, but I had fun. I can tell, I have a lot to learn and I look forward to doing so.

Of all the photos, I think I like this one the most.. I dont know why, it just jumps out at me as being the best of the day.

How to switch from Portrait to Landscape as default photo orientation on your HTC Titan (PPC-6800, XV6800)

This was done on the HTC Titan (Verizon xv6800). It may work for others as well, but I’m not sure.

The problem was this: I take mostly landscape photos with my phone, but the phone would always save the image as a portrait. I hate having to go in and rotate each image, so I wanted to change the default to landscape.

This is how to do it.

  1. Download and copy FdcSoft’s Task Manager to your device.
  2. open TaskMgr

Photos from Pala Raceway

Spent half a day at Pala Raceway the other week riding my 2006 Honda TRX450er on the quad track. Met up with a buddy of mine from trx450r.org and the crew from ThrottleJunkie.com. Here are a couple pics of what went down:

Instructions on How To Replace a Hard Drive in a Macbook A1181

macbook_13_whiteSo a client of mine called me up asking me if I know how to replace a hard drive in a laptop.  Sure I do, so she brought me the laptop, and handed me a Apple Macbook A1181. Now I’m no mac tech, so I was kinda lost at first when it came to replacing the hard drive. But lucky for me, I found a PDF that outlines exactly how to do it, and holy sweetness its easy.

So i have attached the PDF for you to download so you too can replace your harddrive if you ever need to.

A couple of quick tips to add:

If you are installing a new harddrive, you might need to go into the Disk Utilities and “Erase” the hard drive. Erase it to MacOS Extended Journaled (unless you want to use one of the other options) and name the hard drive “Macintosh HDD.” You probably dont have to name it that, but thats what Apple does, so for consistancy I did the same thing.

disk-utility-02So to get to the Disk Utility, Boot off the OS disk by holding your C key as you power on the unit. Let it get to the welcome screen, and then go to menu on top, where the apple is, file, and so on. Under utilities, you will find the disk utility.

I had to do this to the hard drive before the OS would recognize it as a Destination to install the OS too. Before it wouldn’t detect the hard drive in there, so hopefully if you experience this too, now you know what to do.

Palomar Divide Road, the run I did January 3rd, 2009

More Photos

Had some spare time and was sitting around so I decided to take my truck out and see what the Palomar Divide was all about, got about 5 miles up and had to turn around. There was too much snow, and I started loosing traction, no good. But all in all it was a great time.

Heres my run:

Then on the way back into town, i recorded a time laps of the drive…
